Youth leaders on ‘violent’ Dutertismo, repression

Rappler speaks to youth leaders about their experiences with being doxxed and objectified for speaking up on various issues, like Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest and campus repression

MANILA, Philippines – What happens when the youth speak out against impunity, repression, and Duterte?

From having their personal information made public to being threatened with harm, campus journalists and student activists have faced a barrage of intimidation and harassment after speaking out on issues like the arrest of Former President Rodrigo Duterte and university problems, such as the increase of tuition and other fees.

In this Rappler Talk, regions reporter John Sitchon talks to Aika Rosete, Editor-in-Chief of Ateneo de Davao University student publication Atenews, and Maui Cruz, Supreme Student Councilor of the University of San Carlos in Cebu, who have recently had experiences of bullying and bashing by pro-Duterte supporters.
