Rodrigo Duterte's public statements goading police to kill are 'certainly what a prosecutor dreams of getting' in building a case, says crimes against humanity expert Professor Leila Sadat

MANILA, Philippines – In the confirmation of charges hearing for former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte on September 23, “it’s very unlikely that the policy [of killing] element will be much of a hurdle to the prosecutor,” said a crimes against humanity expert.

Rappler senior investigative reporter Lian Buan talks to Professor Leila Sadat, the crimes against humanity initiative director of the Washington University School of Law, who was the Special Adviser on Crimes Against Humanity to the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor until 2023.
