On the last day of the campaign period, reelectionist Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto makes a strong pitch for his slate Giting ng Pasig, while Sarah Discaya throws a street concert showcasing the heft of her business, St. Gerrard Construction Corporation.

The election is Pasig is a contest between Sotto’s reform and good governance agenda, and Discaya’s unsubstantiated promises of lavish infrastructure and ayuda (aid). Sotto’s crackdown on corruption in procurements have led to billions of pesos in savings that have been used to expand social services. Unable to deny Sotto’s “good governance,” Discaya said it fell short of meeting the poor’s daily needs, which she promised to address.
