Kiko Pangilinan, Bam Aquino ride pink wave for Senate comeback

Former vice president Leni Robredo endorses the candidates during the rally in vote-rich Cavite

MANILA, Philippines – Former senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino concluded their campaign kick-off in the vote-rich province of Cavite on Tuesday, February 11.

The campaign rally in Dasmariñas City was reminiscent of the people-driven rallies that marked the 2022 campaign of then-vice president Leni Robredo and running mate Pangilinan. Most of the supporters wore pink, and celebrities, including Pangilinan’s wife Sharon Cuneta, performed and endorsed the two candidates.

Robredo, who is running for Naga City mayor, formally endorsed both Pangilinan and Aquino during the rally.

Former senator Leila de Lima, who failed to physically campaign for her senatorial bid in 2022, finally made it to the “pink campaign.” Her standee initially appeared on stage during the rally before the former justice secretary made an entrance. She pointed to her standee as a “thing of the past.”

De Lima, the Mamamayang Liberal’s first nominee, campaigned on stage with her fellow nominees, Erin Tañada and Teddy Baguilat.
