MANILA, Philippines — Stars and musicians are expected to don their best running gear with the return of a popular triathlon event in Subic this March.

Following a good turnout in 2024, the My Daily Collagen Triathlon is under a new theme: “Where Stars Are Born,” set for March 9.

For half a decade, the triathlon has long been a launch pad for athletes who have risen to shine in the triathlon scene, and this year, the event is  celebrating every participant as a star in their own right —whether they’re seasoned  triathletes, first-timers, or simply chasing personal milestones.

"For 2025, we're thrilled to introduce the My Daily Collagen All-Stars Team at the My Daily Collagen Triathlon — a true celebration of every athlete's unique journey," said Oliver Salas, Chief Sales Officer of the brand, during its press conference in Quezon City.

"This category isn't just for elites or celebrities; it's our way of recognizing the dedication and passion every participant brings to the race. On race day, we believe everyone will shine like a star,” he added.

Among the distinguished All-Stars Team athletes joining the event on March 9 are  Lougee Basabas-Alejandro of FIT PH, renowned as the Mojofly vocalist; the dynamic  father-and-son duo, Bearwin and Ico Meily of AO1; Vanessa Agdon, celebrated as the Head Coach of PNY Tribe; actor-model Kristoffer Martin, and celebrity athletes Alou and Aira Lopez.

Adding to the excitement are other inspiring members of All-Stars Team who continue to elevate the triathlon community: Ruth Paulina of GAS Coaching, Eryka Rie Garcia of PNY Tribe, Justine Rianne Diza of Lakan Tri, and Andy Darmawan of Trimac.

'Racecation'

More than just a race, the triathlon has become a must-experience  “racecation” — a mix of competition and leisure that brings together athletes and their loved ones for an unforgettable weekend. In 2024, hundreds of participants crossed the finish line at Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority's (SBMA) Boardwalk. This year, about 400 participants are expected to join the event.

Triathlon teams from all over the Philippines, including those from as far as Zamboanga will be taking part, alongside international participants from the United States and Asia. The triathlon made its debut in 2019.
