MANILA, Philippines — Quick, tasty, and perfect for any time of day, this Toasted Ham and Pandesal recipe works around a Filipino classic with a savory twist.

It combines the buttery goodness of Dari Crème Buttermilk with rich and creamy mayonnaise and plays with the tenderness of ham and the crisp of lettuce. To add more crunch, each pandesal is toasted to golden perfection. A delicious tummy-filler that keeps hunger at bay when the kids are in school, this sandwich is also easy to make and is ready in minutes — making it ideal for breakfast, merienda, and packed lunch, as well.

Toasted Ham and Pandesal

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Dari Crème Buttermilk

4 pcs. large pandesal, split lengthwise

4 tbsps. Magnolia Real Mayonnaise

2 packs (250 grams each) ham slices

4 pcs. lettuce leaves

Procedure:

1. Spread margarine on both sides of each pandesal. Toast in oven toaster for 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside.

2. Spread mayonnaise on lower halves of pandesals and place 2 slices of ham slices on each. Top with lettuce leaves. Cover with upper halves of pandesals to make four sandwiches.

*Makes 4 servings.
