MANILA, Philippines — A policeman was relieved from his post after he illegally discharged his firearm in Barangay Payatas A on March 16, the Quezon City Police District said yesterday.
According to the QCPD, the officer, a staff sergeant, was placed under the district administrative holding unit while investigation is ongoing.
“Should the allegations be substantiated, appropriate administrative and legal actions will be imposed, including the maximum penalties in accordance with existing laws and regulations,” the QCPD said in a statement.
The QCPD assured the public of a fair, impartial and thorough investigation.
