MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-4.8 earthquake jolted several areas in Eastern Samar yesterday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 6:58 a.m. with its epicenter located approximately 21 kilometers east of San Policarpo town.
The temblor was felt at Intensity 3 in Arteche, Borongan, Can-avid, Dolores, Oras, San Julian, San Policarpo and Taft in Eastern Samar as well as in Gamay, Lapinig, Laoang, Mapanas, Mondragon Palapag and Pambujan in Northern Samar.
Intensity 2 was felt in Hernani, Llorente and Maydolong in Eastern Samar; Bobon and Catarman in Northern Samar, and Catbalogan, Gandara and San Jorge in Samar.
