PVL: Tubu, Perdido lift Farm Fresh over Ho Chi Minh City

MANILA, Philippines — Farm Fresh took down Ho Chi Minh City, 25-14, 25-15, 26-28, 25-20, in the PVL Invitational Conference on Monday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Season MVP Trisha Tubu sustained her fine form from the PVL On Tour to open their Invitational campaign on a high note, joining opening-day winners Creamline and defending champion PLDT.

Tubu was stellar with 25 points on 24 kills, while rookie Jonna Perdido played her best PVL game yet with 17 points and 16 excellent receptions.

Ces Molina and Ria Meneses had 12 points each, while Louie Ramirez dished out 24 excellent sets.

“Today’s game was a fantastic game. I appreciate the Ho Chi Minh team. We already saw this Ho Chi Minh team last month when we participated in the Taiwan games. They have a high-level and good system from their junior to senior team. Their system should be learned by Philippine volleyball,” said Japanese coach Koji Tsuzurabara.

Farm Fresh has less than 24 hours to recover, facing EST Cola of Thailand on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Ho Chi Minh City’s fight was led by Nguyen Thi Nah Phuong, who had 13 points. Dang Thi kim Thanh and Dao Thi Nhung had 12 points each.
