“I treated it as both a challenge and an opportunity—for myself and for the team,” Deloria said in Filipino after also tallying 13 excellent receptions and 10 digs.

“More than anything, I was thinking about the team because I want us to win together. Whatever I can do to help, no matter how hard the training is, I’ll do it for the team.”

Deloria, a former second-round pick of the defunct Chery Tiggo in last year’s draft, relished the big preseason win against Farm Fresh, which made a breakthrough semifinals appearance last All-Filipino Conference and also produced a Season MVP in Trisha Tubu.

“It’s really heartwarming because, as we all know, Farm Fresh is one of the contenders,” the Enderun Colleges product said. “We felt that all the hard work we put in during the offseason finally paid off. We just played with all our hearts. We had nothing to lose, and we simply showed how much we love volleyball.”

Galeries coach Aying Esteban lauded the team’s growth and renewed mindset after reaching the second phase of the Play-In in the All-Filipino last April.

“The biggest change has been their mentality, especially in training,” Esteban said in Filipino. “I’m happy because they never get tired of the work we’re asking them to do. I’m really grateful for their commitment and the effort they’re putting in for the team.”
