MANILA, Philippines — Factory gate prices picked up at a slower pace in November 2025 as transport equipment prices declined, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said.
Data released by the PSA showed that the Producer Price Index (PPI) for manufacturing posted a slower uptick of 0.1 percent in November 2025 from 0.5 percent in October last year.
The November PPI growth was also slower than the 0.5 percent increase in the same month in 2024.
The PPI measures the average change in factory gate prices relative to a base period.
“The deceleration in the annual growth rate of PPI for the manufacturing section in November 2025 was primarily due to the annual decline in the PPI for manufacture of transport equipment industry division at 0.1 percent in November 2025 from one percent annual increase in October 2025,” the PSA said.
Transport equipment contributed 25.8 percent to the slower PPI growth in November 2025.
The PSA cited food products as another contributor to the PPI growth as the sector registered a slower 0.1 percent uptick in November 2025 from 0.5 percent in October last year.
Manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products was also a major contributor as it registered a faster dip at 0.5 percent in November last year from 0.01 percent in October 2025.
Of the remaining 19 industry divisions, 10 posted increases in November last year. These are: coke and refined petroleum products; tobacco products; basic metals; chemicals and chemical products; wearing apparel; furniture; rubber and plastic products; leather and related products, including footwear; printing and reproduction of recorded media; and electrical equipment.
Meanwhile, those which registered declines in November 2025 are other non-metallic mineral products; beverages; paper and paper products; basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations; fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment; machinery and equipment, except electrical; other manufacturing and repair and installation of machinery and equipment; wood, bamboo, cane, rattan articles and related products; and textiles.
Average PPI growth from January to November last year was at 0.4 percent.
