LAGUNA, Philippines — Former actress Marjorie Barretto paid tribute to her mother Estrella "Inday" Barretto, who passed away earlier this week aged 89.

Marjorie's siblings Jose Joaquin or "JJ" and Claudine confirmed the passing of their mother, who was in and out of the hospital during her final months.

Posting an obituary on her official Instagram account, Marjorie explained in her caption she took a while to publicly address her mom's passing as she was still processing emotions while making funeral plans.

Such feelings were made more raw given the Barrettos just lost their eldest brother Mito just last September.

"In every trial that comes my way, I have always felt God's guidance, protection, and grace," Marjorie said, writing that she felt the latter in the hospital some time ago when she was alone with Inday.

The ex-actress recalled Inday attempting to be "her usual chatty self" albeit speaking more slowly but with a clear and sharp mind, and the matriarch laughed har at Marjorie's stories even when she wasn't trying to be funny.

"The greatest grace was 2 days after in the morning she passed away. I was in her room with only my sister Michie and Marichi," she continued. "It was peaceful and quiet. A moment I truly believe God orchestrated and one I will hold close to my heart always."

"They say we don't always get closure in life. Knowing God was calling my mom home, I believe He gave me something even greater, the chance to be with her at her bedside, a grace that allowed me to heal," Marjorie shared.

She ended her messages asking everyone to keep Inday in her prayers as she joined Mito and Miguel, Inday's late husband, in the afterlife.

Marjorie's children Dani, Claudia, and Leon all reposted the obituary on their Instagram stories, with some of them also posting photos of their grandmother.

Among those who left condoling messages were Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Angeline Quinto, Isabel Oli, Mariel Padilla, Rayver Cruz, Vina Morales, Rajo Laurel, Jaya, Karla Estrada and Gerald Anderson, who last dated Marjorie's other daughter Julia.

Inday is survived by Marjorie's family and those of her siblings Jose Joaquin or "JJ," Michelle, Geraldine or "Gia," Gretchen or "G," and Claudine.
