MANILA, Philippines — Local diesel and kerosene prices dropped by more than P3 in the first week of September, while gasoline prices also went down by a few centavos.

The Department of Energy (DOE) announced the following price adjustments earlier:

• Diesel - down by P3.83 per liter
• Kerosene - down by P3.84 per liter
• Gasoline - down by P0.32 per liter

The energy department said movements in prices are still affected by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

On Tuesday, September 1, US Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that US President Donald Trump currently focuses on ensuring uninterrupted trade through the Strait of Hormuz, the critical passage where around 20% of the world’s oil supply passes through.

LPG

Meanwhile, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) also went down by P0.40 per kilogram. For 11-kilogram cylinders, prices dropped by P4.39 per kilogram.
