MANILA, Philippines — Drivers and motorists may need to adjust their budgets this week as the Department of Energy announced an oil price hike for diesel and kerosene following last week’s significant rollback.
Gasoline prices, meanwhile, are expected to move in either direction—up or down—depending on adjustments by individual fuel retailers.
Based on the announcement of the DOE, the following price adjustments for June 9 to 15 are as follows:
- Gasoline - either down by P1.70 per liter or up by P0.30 per liter
- Diesel - up by P3.77 - P5.77 per liter
- Kerosene - up by P6.10 - P8.10 per liter
These adjustments, according to DOE, are still brought by the movements in the global oil market amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia after the US-Israel attacked Iran last February.
Iran recently announced a halt to its current attacks while Israel said the situation was “contained,” but both sides warned they would retaliate if hostilities resume, as tensions linked to Lebanon remain unresolved.
Meanwhile, here are the estimated new prices starting Tuesday, June 9:
