MANILA, Philippines — With corruption issues hounding his administration, President Marcos’ trust ratings continued to plunge in the last quarter of the year, with more Filipinos saying they have “little trust” in him, a commissioned survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.

The Nov. 24 to 30 survey, commissioned by Stratbase, found that only 38 percent of the respondents have much trust in Marcos, down from 48 percent in June and 43 percent in September.

It was similar to what he obtained in the May survey, and slightly higher than the 36 percent in April.

Those who had little trust in Marcos surged to 41 percent, from just 30 percent in June and 36 percent in September.

A point higher than the 40 percent in March and April surveys, the latest poll showed a record high “little trust” rating for the President.

Twenty percent were undecided, almost similar to the 21 percent in the last three surveys.

Trust in Marcos remained highest in balance Luzon at 50 percent (from 51 percent), followed by those in Metro Manila at 36 percent (from 46 percent), the Visayas at 35 percent (from 40 percent) and Mindanao at 20 percent (from 27 percent).

A majority of respondents from Mindanao (58 percent) said they had “little trust” in the President, up 10 points from the September survey.

Vice President Sara Duterte, meanwhile, still enjoys the trust of the majority of Filipinos, with 56 percent saying they have “much trust” in her.

It was up from 53 percent in September, although still lower than the 60 percent and 61 percent that she obtained in May and June, respectively.

Those who had little trust slightly dropped from 28 percent in September to 26 percent in the November poll.

Seventeen percent were undecided, almost similar to the 18 percent in the previous poll.

The numbers meant net trust ratings of -3 percent for Marcos and +31 for Duterte.
