MANILA, Philippines — Police are investigating the killing of a political vlogger on Friday in Caloocan City.

Alicia Lipata, 24, also known as “Mima Alicia,” is reportedly a supporter of the Marcos administration and a critic of the Dutertes.

Two motorcycle-riding gunmen fired at Lipata and her partner at their home.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered the Metro Manila police to provide security to Lipata’s partner, who is receiving treatment in a hospital.

The suspects’ motive has yet to be determined.

The police Anti-Cybercrime Group will aid probers by reviewing Lipata’s online content and social media accounts to see if her work had attracted threats.

“Violence has no place in a society where freedom of expression is respected,” Nartatez said.

“We assure (the family and supporters of the victim) of the PNP’s commitment to identify and arrest all those responsible in the interest of truth and justice,” he added.
