CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Sixteen people were arrested in an online cockfight or sabong operation in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, Central Luzon police chief, said a joint provincial and regional police special group conducted an operation on the reported illegal online sabong activities at MRS cockpit arena in Barangay Malipampang last week.
Mendez said a middleman and an operator, respectively identified as Recto and Obet, were arrested along with 14 other employees.
