CEBU, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has honored 109 PNP personnel who passed the 2025 Bar examinations.

“Passing the Bar is no small feat. That our police officers achieved this while serving the public makes their accomplishment even more meaningful,” acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said recently.

The Supreme Court released on Jan. 7 the results of the Bar exams.

New lawyers would strengthen the PNP’s commitment to due process, human rights and justice, Nartatez said, as he encouraged other personnel to pursue continuing education.

DepEd’s Bar  passers

Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, himself a lawyer, has also congratulated 118 DepEd personnel who passed the Bar exams.

Fifty-two of the new lawyers are teachers, followed by 16 administrative officers, seven project development officers, five legal assistants, four technical assistants, four education program specialists, three principals, three accountants, two executive assistants, two planning officers, two nurses, two assistant schools division superintendents and two registrars, the DepEd said.

Of the total number of Bar passers, six came from the DepEd’s central office and 112 from regional and field offices. –  Bella Cariaso
