MANILA, Philippines — The PLDT High Speed Hitters squeezed through a needle-hole test to claim their first-ever championship, emerging as the champions of the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour.

PLDT survived the reverse-sweep scare posted by the Chery Tiggo Crossovers after prevailing via a 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 24-26, 15-8, in the pre-season finals on Sunday, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The High Speed Hitters were one set away from securing their first-ever championship, but the Chery Tiggo went alive in the next two frames to push for a decider.
PLDT earned a 10-4 advantage as Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes chimed in their forces.

Jyn Sorreño stopped the bleeding for Chery Tiggo, but Reyes and Kim Dy led the charge in the late stretch of the match to send PLDT to match-point advantage, 14-5.

Chery Tiggo pulled a 3-0 rally, but Dy said enough after blocking Cess Robles’ attack, 15-8.
