MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coffee Expo will return on May 9 to 11 this year in One Ayala, Makati City with the theme "Charting New Frontiers."
The Philippine Coffee Guild, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Barista Coffee Academy Asia comprise the organizing body of this event.
With last year’s success, the organizers are putting together the expo in its second home, in the heart of Makati CBD (central business district), Space by One Ayala. The momentous gathering will serve as the culminating program for the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition wherein the winning farmers shall be recognized and awarded.
The PCQC is an annual event designed to identify and promote the best quality coffees in the country to domestic and international markets; benefit producers, market actors, and consumers. Its purpose is to identify and recognize the nation's best specialty coffees to motivate producers to improve their coffee quality and market access as these coffees are made known to specialty buyers through the competition results and subsequent auctions.
The government, private sector, and other stakeholders support the competition. Implementing the PCQC requires the involvement of a wide range of people and institutions covering a large geographic area. Guidelines are set in place to ensure that the breadth and complexity of the competition are fully covered and that the various roles and responsibilities will be clearly understood by those assisting the PCQC implementation.
Apart from the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition Awards, among the highlights of this year's three-day trade fair are as follows: Kape’t Kwentuhan Sessions, Meeting with Local and International Speakers, Coffee Exhibition, Business Matching, Product Demos, Roasters-Producers Forum, Cupping Room, Pop-up Cafes, International Specialty Coffee Guest Exhibitors, Guild Barista and Roasting Competitions.
“This year’s Philippine Coffee Expo builds on the success of previous editions by bringing the community together in an even more dynamic and collaborative space. With a wider range of exhibitors, engaging discussions with local and international experts, and expanded business matching opportunities, attendees can look forward to deeper connections and greater exposure to the best of Philippine coffee,” PCG chairman Dr. Emmanuel Garcia said.
“This event continues to grow as a vital platform for fostering innovation, celebrating excellence, and strengthening the industry from farm to cup,” he added.
The exhibit will feature more than 100 coffee-producing organizations, companies, and key players in the country’s coffee market system. Moreover, there will be business matching activities that will link local farmers to prospective buyers.
The Philippine Coffee Expo 2025 to be held at the Space at One Ayala is made possible by expo and events management team, Perdem Hay Marketing Solutions Inc in cooperation with its major sponsors; Gourmet Farms, Inc., Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat, DA-PRDP-NPCO, Easy Brand PH, Eighty Plus, Top Creamery, and Curve Coffee Collaborators.
