MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has paid health facilities over P16 billion for its Yaman ng Kalusugan program (YAKAP), the PhilHealth said.

In its data, PhilHealth said it paid YAKAP-accredited government facilities P13.9 billion as of Dec. 31, 2025. The private clinics were paid P2.49 billion.

There are 4,099 accredited YAKAP clinics in the country that service the 40,008,417 people registered under the program.

According to PhilHealth, the program was launched in July 2025 as a national primary care benefit package offering free, comprehensive outpatient services such as consultations, laboratory tests and cancer screening that include mammography, colonoscopy, health education and counseling.

It aims to give Filipinos, particularly those in remote areas, better access to primary and preventive health care services without going to big hospitals.

Under YAKAP is the guaranteed and accessible medications for outpatient treatment or GAMOT package, which provides free medicines worth up to P20,000 yearly.

The GAMOT package include medicines for treating infections, asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart conditions.
