MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has paid P15.8 billion for pneumonia, the top medical condition it reimbursed in 2025, the PhilHealth said.
Data showed that PhilHealth reimbursed 637,526 benefit claims made from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 last year for the community-acquired pneumonia III.
The agency paid P3 billion for 301,920 claims in acute gastroenteritis cases, P3.9 billion for 236,232 claims of dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever, P2.5 billion for 206,702 claims in urinary tract infection and P1.4 billion in 136,651 claims of other acute gastritis.
For the whole of 2025, PhilHealth paid P300.45 billion in medical claims, or 81.72 percent higher than the P165.34 billion it paid over the same period in 2024.
