South Korean singer-songwriter Peach Luffe, also known as Jong Lee, released his eight-track EP "Back to Me," compiling singles he had been unveiling since August 2024. The Toronto-based artist blends dreamy pop with classical influences, crafting poignant compositions.
Since 2019, he has actively written and produced original pieces, including "Fallen," "Sunflower," "Fairytale," "Venus," and "Evergreen."
His latest EP delves into self-reflection, blending nostalgic indie-pop with classical elements. Peach Luffe described it as a means of reconnection, explaining, "I just want to return to my original self; I can't tell if this feeling of 'feeling less' is temporary or permanent. It scares me. I just want to return to myself."

The EP opens with "Just a Thread," where layered instrumentation conveys the struggle of longing for a past version of oneself. "Better Off" follows with an upbeat rhythm, seeking reassurance despite uncertainty. "What's on Your Mind" evokes nostalgia through candid lyrics, emphasizing sincerity and open communication.

The introspective mood continues with "Before I Met You," a mellow track reflecting on past identities. Another laid-back composition with soothing melodies and poignantly written lyrics, "When You Hold Me," talks about vulnerability and difficult-to-ask questions with a partner.
"Your Everything" sustains the theme, addressing love's complexities and commitment. The EP closes with acoustic renditions of "Just a Thread" and "Better Off," stripping them down to highlight more vulnerable vocals and a deeper emotional connection.
Among these tracks, Peach Luffe identifies "Just a Thread" as the heart of the EP.
"I want to feel like 'me' again," he shared, noting how the song's message deepens as he matures.
He also found "Better Off" and "Just a Thread" the most challenging to complete, explaining, "They pushed me as a singer — I'm belting out the words!"
Before stepping into singing and songwriting, Peach Luffe played the oboe and learned violin in school.
"Fast-forward to university — I was majoring in violin and decided I didn't want to do it anymore, so I picked up singing!" he recalled.
With a bachelor's degree in classical music, he cites it as his strongest influence. Living in Toronto, however, he absorbed the city's "dark-sounding R&B," which naturally shaped his style. As a Korean, ballads also hold a special place in his heart, contributing to the melodic essence of his music.
His creative process remains fluid. "I like to be open as creativity comes to me," he shared. Often, he watches YouTube and experiments with his guitar until something clicks — a method that suits his ADHD, as maintaining focus isn't always easy. Admirably, the musician is deeply connected to his music, from songwriting to production.
Through his music, he hopes listeners can revisit cherished childhood memories. "I would love to write about how lonely I felt growing up. I didn't fit into any group."
Eager to expand his horizons, he envisions performing across Asia and collaborating with fellow South Korean musicians DEAN and Wave to Earth. He is also keen on exploring alternative R&B beyond his signature dreamy indie-pop sound.
Looking ahead, he has an ambitious goal in mind: "I want to work on an album. Perhaps my magnum opus! I feel it.
