MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard yesterday warned the public against people who claim they can guarantee a slot in the PCG recruitment program in exchange for money.
The advisory came after operatives arrested a suspected recruitment scammer in Parañaque on Feb. 26.
“Do not pay any fee or processing money to people who claim they can secure a slot or fast-track your application. Keep screenshots, messages or receipts and report immediately through official channels,” the PCG said in a statement.
The PCG “does not authorize any individual or any of its personnel to solicit or receive payments for recruitment processing, acceptance or inclusion in any list.”
People interested in joining the PCG can transact directly through official recruitment channels, the agency added.
