MANILA, Philippines–Troy Rosario is glad to be able to leave a mark in Barangay Ginebra’s successful run to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup crown.

Rosario put up 13 points and seven rebounds in Wednesday’s 88-76 win over TNT at Mall of Asia Arena to secure Ginebra’s first title in three years while shedding off the disappointment of falling short in his Finals appearance for the crowd favorites last year.

“I regretted my performance during my last Finals appearance because I wasn’t able to contribute much during Game 6 and Game 7 of that series,” Rosario said.

Ginebra had a 3-2 lead over the same TNT side in the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup Finals, only to lose the next two games.

The Gin Kings had a similar series advantage in this series, but lost Game 6 despite Rosario’s nine points and 15 rebounds.

“I came into this game with the mindset that I have to go all out since I’m totally healthy anyway,” he said. “I was really tired after the game, and I wasn’t able to celebrate properly. But at least, we were able to get the job done.”

His performance in the series made him one of the candidates for PBA Press Corps Finals Most Valuable Player, which eventually went to Scottie Thompson.

Some fans felt Rosario should have gotten the nod over Thompson. But the big man would be glad to settle with a championship, just the second of his PBA career.
