6-foot-10 big man Quentin Millora-Brown says he wants to 'advance my career as far as I can' as he hopes to land a deal in Europe

MANILA, Philippines – Former UP Fighting Maroons big man Quentin Millora-Brown shot down the possibility of joining the upcoming PBA Season 50 Rookie Draft as he targets a potential stint in Europe.

As he weighs his career options, the 6-foot-10 Millora-Brown signed a short-team deal with the Macau Black Bears.

“My contract [with Macau] is only through the end of the month,” Millora-Brown told reporters covering the 18th FilOil Preseason Cup championship game on Sunday, July 27.

“After that, I’m looking at signing a contract in Europe, but I just have to wait before this first contract ends,” he added.

“As of right now, my agent and I decided that (the PBA is) not a path that we’re going for.”

If his Europe plans fall through, Millora-Brown said that he will come back to play for Macau as he already made huge contributions in the Black Bears’ recent stint in The Asian Tournament.

He tallied 16 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals against the Guangzhou Loong Lions, helping Macau win in the leg finals last July 24.

Despite still being classified as a naturalized player by FIBA, the 24-year-old big man gets his first glimpse against Gilas Pilipinas, which will face the Black Bears in an exhibition game at the Araneta Coliseum on Monday, July 28.

He said that the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is appealing his case to shift his classification to a local.

“We’ll see what happens. Obviously, things change, maybe we’ll do that, but for the foreseeable future, the best path right now is looking at Europe and other options, just to advance my career as far as I can.” – Rappler.com
