MANILA, Philippines––NLEX import DeQuan Jones underwent successful surgery on his right leg after suffering the gruesome injury during a 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup game against TNT at Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Team governor Ronald Dulatre on Wednesday posted a social media photo of him and Jones on his hospital bed, a day after he got hurt in the third quarter of the Road Warriors’ 118-111 overtime victory.

According to Dulatre, Jones seems to be “in high spirits.”

“Hoping [and] praying for your speedy recovery buddy,” Dulatre said on his Facebook page.

Jones was injured after an awkward fall, followed by TNT’s Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser landing on his leg. A remorseful Ganuelas-Rosser later said the incident was purely accidental.

The Road Warriors are still in the process of finding a replacement for Jones, who has been one of the reasons for the team’s 7-1 win-loss slate and hold on top spot in Group A.

“You never expect your import to go down. I’ll get our staff together with management and try to figure out what we can do,” Road Warriors coach Jimmy Alapag said.
