MANILA, Philippines — Streaming platform Netflix has finally announced a premiere date for Korean comedy series "The WONDERfools" starring Park Eun-bin and Cha Eun-woo.

The new show will hit the platform on May 15, with Netflix also releasing an official poster and teaser trailer.

"Set in 1999, 'The WONDERfools' is an adventure comedy series about a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and must band together to take on villains threatening world peace," goes a synopsis.

Eun-bin plays Chae-ni, the "hot mess" of Haseong city, while Eun-woo plays Un-jeong. Joining them are Choi Dae-hoon as Gyeong-hun and Im Seong-jae as Ro-bin.

The teaser video sees these bunch of misfits obtain their powers like Un-jeong summoning a floating book, a cellphone sticking to Gyeong-hun's palm, and Ro-bin tear a car door open with ease.

The poster has all four characters gathered together under the title card as objects levitate above them. Completing the main cast are Kim Hae-sook and Son Hyun-joo.

"Dr. Romantic" director Yoo In-sik helms the project, reuniting him with Eun-bin whom he worked with in "Extraordinary Attorney Woo." — Video from Netflix K-Content's YouTube channel
