MANILA, Philippines — The Parañaque government plans to build a new fire sub-station in Aseana City to improve emergency response.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez announced the plan last week during the Bureau of Fire Protection’s culminating activity for Fire Prevention Month in Barangay San Dionisio.
The sub-station will rise in Barangay Tambo, near an existing satellite office, and is expected to speed up response time during fires in the Aseana district.
Once completed, it will be the sixth fire station in Parañaque.
Olivarez said the move is part of efforts to strengthen disaster response capabilities as urban development continues.
He also cited measures to improve firefighting operations, including the deployment of 19 additional fire aides and the acquisition of five firetrucks.
Olivarez said funding has been set aside for maintenance of firetrucks, fuel assistance and allowances for firefighters.
Authorities said these steps aim to improve response time and sustain fire prevention efforts in communities.
Stressing that disaster preparedness remains a shared responsibility, Olivarez called for coordination between authorities and residents to ensure safety.
