In an advisory, PAL announced the launch of a new service between Manila and Palau, slated to begin on March 29, 2026 on a twice-weekly schedule.
MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is expanding its presence in the Pacific Islands, mounting weekly flights to Palau starting next year to add another destination to its foreign network.
In an advisory, PAL announced the launch of a new service between Manila and Palau, slated to begin on March 29, 2026 on a twice-weekly schedule.
PAL president Richard Nuttall said the airline has decided to enter Palau to widen its reach in the Pacific Islands, where it is currently present via Guam.
Moreover, Nuttall wants the flight to serve as a springboard for Filipinos to a destination famed for its marine attractions. Palau is one of the most popular countries in the Pacific Islands for its clear waters, coral reefs and dive sites.
“Creating flights to this Pacific island would stimulate tourism travel among beach lovers and the diving community. Travelers can expect world-class service on board their flights combined with PAL’s renowned Filipino heartfelt care,” Nuttall said.
Nuttall said it was also an easy decision for the carrier to add Palau to its overseas network given its proximity to the Philippines, only three hours away from Manila.
PAL is assigning an Airbus A321ceo, with a capacity of 199 seats, to serve the flight that would depart on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The flight is scheduled to fly out of Manila at 10:15 p.m. and arrive in Palau at 2 a.m., local time, and the return will depart at 3:10 a.m., local time, to land in Manila at 4:55 a.m.
To promote the new flight, the airline is offering an introductory fare until Dec. 18 of $499 for a roundtrip on economy cabin and $1,239 for a roundtrip on business class. Guests securing the offer can fly from March 29, 2026 onward.
Currently, Filipinos can reach Palau via United Airlines, which flies from Manila weekly. Recently, Nauru Airlines has launched direct flights to Palau from Clark.
The new flight in Clark bridges the airport to Oceania for the first time, and Nauru Airlines eyes to use Clark as its entry point to scale up in Asia.
Palau is also home to overseas Filipino workers who are mostly hired in construction, health and hospitality.
