MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced the nationwide expansion of its "FurPAL" program, allowing pet owners to bring small dogs inside the aircraft cabin on all domestic routes.

In a statement on Thursday, February 19, the airline said the service is now available for travelers flying to any PAL domestic destination.

For a one-way fee of P2,500, passengers can keep their pets by their side throughout the flight, instead of placing them in the cargo hold.

How to book. The airline said it has streamlined the booking process, allowing passengers to add a "FurPAL" companion directly through the PAL website under the "Travel Boost" page during checkout.

To ensure a smooth journey, PAL has also set strict eligibility guidelines for the program:

Only small dog breeds weighing up to 10 kg, at least eight weeks old, and fully weaned are eligible for in-cabin travel.

Each passenger may bring one pet, with a maximum of three small dogs per flight.

All pets must be transported in a soft-sided, leak-proof carrier (max size: 17” x 11” x 9.5”) equipped with pee pads and at least two ventilation panels.

Pets must remain inside their carriers and placed under the seat in front of the passenger throughout the flight.

Health certificates and updated vaccination records are mandatory, along with a veterinary certificate, PAL waiver and declaration form, and shipping permit from the Bureau of Animal Industry.

Pet sedation is strictly not allowed.
