MANILA, Philippines — Police operatives seized P6.1 million worth of shabu in Lucena City on Sunday and another P3.4 million worth in Zamboanga City yesterday, authorities said.

The Lucena City Police Station said two suspects were arrested during a sting in Barangay Ibabang Dupay in Lucena.

Both suspects were reportedly on the list of high-value targets in the city and previously charged for drug-related offenses.

Operatives seized 300 grams of shabu from the suspects, who are detained pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, personnel of the Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operation Unit 9 in Zamboanga seized 10 sachets of shabu, each weighing 50 grams, from two suspected drug dealers in Barangay Talon-Talon yesterday.

The operatives, led by Capt. Jay-ar Buban, said the suspects were monitored after they were newly identified in the illegal drug trade in the area.

During investigation, the two denied selling drugs, claiming they were just tapped as couriers in exchange for P30,000.
