BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The city government plans to build a P60-million parking building to help solve the lack of parking space inside the city hall compound here.
Rodrigo Sam Martinez, acting assistant city engineer, said the two-story structure could accommodate 60 to 80 vehicles with its basement and ground levels.
The parking building will be constructed in a vacant area near the former City General Services Office on the left side of the city hall, which is currently used as an open parking area.
Martinez said construction of the facility would start after the bidding process.
With funding from the city’s annual local development fund, the project is expected to be completed within one year.
According to Martinez, the project will use a design-and-build scheme, wherein the winning bidder will do both the design and construction of the building within the approved budget.
