CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two drug suspects and seized an estimated P20.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a sting along Coastal Road in Barangay Lapasan before dawn on March 19.
The suspects, identified only as Wen, 23, and Jun, 25, both residents of Barangay Calaanan in Cagayan de Oro City, were apprehended at 12:56 a.m.
Authorities said approximately three kilos of suspected shabu were confiscated during the operation, along with marked money, plastic sachets and improvised containers used for drug storage.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit Team 2, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enfocement Agency’s Regional Special Enforcement Team 10 and other police units.
The suspects were taken into custody and are currently detained at the Royal Detention Facility.
Meanwhile, the seized illegal drugs have been turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for laboratory examination.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspects.
