ILOILO CITY — Authorities confiscated P13.6 million worth of shabu in a major buy-bust operation in Barangay Bantayanon, Calatrava, on Monday night, April 7.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 (PDEA-6) said the operation also led to the apprehension of a high-value individual (HVI) in the region's intensified anti-drug campaign.

The suspect, identified as alias "Khent," 23, a resident of Barangay Suba in Calatrava, was caught red-handed with two vacuum-sealed packs of about 2 kilograms of shabu.

Authorities also recovered the money used in the buy-bust, including marked bills, and placed over P2 million worth of boodle money wrapped in cling wrap.

Other non-drug items seized from the suspect included two aluminum plastic packs, a red eco-bag, and a brown paper bag.

The PDEA-6 said the recent confiscation is one of the largest seizures in the area this year.

On the same day in Iloilo City, law enforcement agencies arrested two big pushers and confiscated P1.36 million worth of shabu in Barangay Calumpang, Molo district.

Authorities seized approximately 200 grams of shabu, dealing what officials describe as a significant blow to the local drug trade.

On Sunday, April 6, a 21-year-old pusher from Pototan, Iloilo, was also arrested in the nearby town of Dueñas.

The suspect was caught in possession of approximately 160 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.08 million.
