ILOILO CITY — Authorities seized around P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested three drug suspects in a buy-bust in Barangay Poblacion South, Oton, Iloilo on Sunday evening.
The police identified the primary target as alias Dan, 50 years old and a resident of Barangay San Antonio in Oton.
He is considered as a high-value individual (HVI) by narcotics police.
Also arrested were his accomplices known only as alias Joe, 56, and alias Yan, 37. Both are residents of Barangay Poblacion South.
The Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) said Dan had previously eluded arrest during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Botong, Oton a few years ago.

Meanwhile, Joe had been arrested in a 2016 buy-bust but was released in 2019 after entering a plea bargain agreement.
The IPPO said that it received reports that the suspects had been sourcing illegal drugs from Iloilo City and distributing them in Oton and nearby towns.
After nearly three months of surveillance and validation, police operatives were able to confirm the suspects' involvement before conducting the buy-bust.
