The Philippine Recorded Music Rights Inc. (PRM) and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) officially launched The Official Philippines Charts, an industry-backed ranking system that accurately tracks the most popular songs in the country based on streaming data.

Backed by key players in the recorded music industry, the charts combine streams from global platforms Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify and YouTube. They are managed by IFPI and are built on data prepared by BMAT, in accordance with IFPI's global charts principles and methodologies.

PRM, on the other hand, is a non-stock, non-profit, joint music licensing organization that works hand in hand with IFPI to ensure the accessibility of the charts.

The Top 10 Local Artists of the Year also include Bini, TJ Monterde, Hev Abi, Ben&Ben, Arthur Nery, Maki and Al James. FACEBOOK PHOTO/BINI_PH

The Official Philippines Chart will be releasing industry-backed weekly music chart showcasing the top-performing tracks from local and international artists in the country based on streaming across all major platforms. The chart will be updated weekly and made publicly available every Tuesday on PRM's official website, www.prm.com.oh, as well as through its official social media channels.

"Numbers don't lie. With the transparency and visibility provided by The Official Philippine Charts, we now have a clear picture of who is resonating with our audiences, who is breaking barriers, and who is truly making waves in the music scene," said Roslyn Pineda, Sony Music Entertainment Philippines, general manager and PRM board member.

The chart's launch also recognized the Top 10 Local Artists of the Year and the Top 10 Local Songs of the Year, honoring those who dominated the charts and captivated audiences throughout 2024.
