MANILA, Philippines — Ogie Alcasid described the pamamanhikan of his future son-in-law, singer-songwriter and rapper Curtismith, as emotional and thanked their blended family for making the night memorable for Curtismith and his daughter, Leila.

Pamamanhikan is a pre-wedding Filipino tradition where the groom's family visits the bride's family to seek their blessing and approval for the couple's marriage.

"Last night's very emotional 'pamanhikan.' Shelley ty for coming over and giving that beautiful speech which moved everyone. Baba, ty for songs that delighted the guests. Markie, we miss you here but we will see you soon," Alcasid wrote on his Instagram post, which was accompanied by a group photo from the event.
