MANILA, Philippines — Northern Luzon is experiencing moderate to heavy rains but the situation is expected to gradually improve, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes and Cagayan.

Similar conditions are projected in Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental.

Localized thunderstorms are expected across Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon by late afternoon and evening.

No tropical cyclone or low-pressure area is being monitored.
