MANILA, Philippines — Cancer treatment in Northern Luzon took a major step forward with the formal launch and unveiling of the first BEBIG Sagistar LINAC (medical linear accelerator) in the Philippines, held last January at the Cancer Center of St. Paul Hospital Tuguegarao.
The installation of the advanced radiation therapy system marks a milestone for regional healthcare, bringing modern cancer treatment technology closer to patients outside Metro Manila. The launch was made possible through a partnership between BEBIG Medical Philippines and the Philippine Oncology Center Corp. (POCC).

Medical linear accelerators, or LINACs, are widely used in radiation oncology to deliver high-energy beams that target and destroy cancer cells with accuracy while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. With the addition of the Sagistar LINAC, St. Paul Hospital Tuguegarao strengthens its cancer care capabilities and positions the region to access advanced treatment options typically available in major metropolitan centers.
BEBIG’s medical technologies are currently deployed in several countries, including Germany, China, Singapore, India and the US, supporting cancer care programs across global healthcare systems.
