MANILA, Philippines — To make government transactions faster, more convenient and corruption-free, President Marcos launched the Bagong Pilipinas eGov PH Super App and the eGov PH Serbisyo Hub in San Juan City yesterday.
“No lines, no fixers, no corruption. That’s what we get because of the eGov app and one-stop shop that we opened today,” the President said in his speech at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center.
Developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the eGov PH Super App integrates various government services into a single digital platform accessible via smartphone, tablet or desktop.
Citizens can use the app to file applications, track requests, verify their identity and eventually make online payments, all without leaving their homes, the President said.
He said many Filipinos lose valuable time and income waiting in line trying to secure basic documents, only to be told to come back another day due to incomplete requirements.
“You go to an office. You wait for two hours… then, you will be told that the requirements are incomplete. And you have to come back. That is impossible for an ordinary citizen,” Marcos said.
“That’s why we have always aspired to a real one-stop shop. Now, we have it. And not only in San Juan, this will be all over the Philippines,” he said.
Meanwhile, Marcos gave assurance that the production of physical national identification cards would continue even as the government intensifies its push for digitalization.
“There are sectors in our society who insist to have a physical ID. So, that’s what we’re going to do,” the President said.
He said the National ID’s digital version is particularly useful in the eGovPH Super app, which enables access to a wide range of government services and transactions.
Marcos noted that 88 million Filipinos have already acquired their digital national ID.
“With the digital ID, we are able to do all of the things that the eGov app is able to do. You can do all that in the comfort of your own home, in your office, or you know, while you’re playing Candy Crush. If you have five minutes, then do the paperwork that you need to do over the internet,” the Chief Executive said.
Of the 112,729,484 Filipinos, a total of 93,485,139 have registered for the national ID based on latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
As of June 6, the PSA has reported the delivery of 54,913,634 physical national ID cards.
