All eyes are on Nic Chien has he plays Jack in “Into the Woods,” and with him in the cast is none other than his mother and theater icon, Lea Salonga, as the Witch.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Nic said working with his mom is “honestly, not that different from home.”

“I mean, the theater, the rehearsal room has always sort of been a second home for me, because I would go with her to her rehearsals or whatever,” Nic told GMA News Online.

“So, I've kind of been used to seeing her in work mode because it's just so common for me,” he added.

They "don't have a lot of scenes together" so for Nic, it's "basically the same thing as coming with her to work, and her coming with me to work, you know?”

According to Nic, Lea does not give him tips at work.

“My mom has made it clear that that is strictly Tita Chari's job,” Nic said. Tita Chari is Chari Arespacochaga, the co-director of the highly anticipated "Into the Woods."

“She's the director, and my mom’s job is to make sure I eat at the end of the day and sing in key,” he added.

“Into the Woods” is comprised of a star-studded cast of Eugene Domingo as Jack’s Mother, Mark Bautista as Rapunzel’s Prince, Nyoy Volante as The Baker, Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante as The Baker’s Wife, Josh Dela Cruz as Cinderella’s Prince and the Wolf, Arielle Jacobs as Cinderella, Carla Guevara-Laforteza as Granny or the Giant, Rody Vera as the Narrator, and many more.

Tony Award winner Clint Ramos serves as the overall artistic and creative director, alongside co-producers John and Joanna Echauz, and Samsung Performing Arts Theater Executive Director Chris Mohnani.
