THE National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its Chairman Regalado Trota Jose Jr., will unveil the historical markers of "Kayan" and "Tadian" on May 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively. The markers state:

KAYAN

LANDAS NG PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 1899

Sa pamayanang ito, ngayo'y nahahati sa pagitan ng Kayan East at Kayan West, Tadian, Mountain Province, dumaan si Emilio Aguinaldo, pangulo ng unang Republika ng Pilipinas, at ang kaniyang hukbo habang ipinagtatanggol ang kalayaan at pagkabansa ng mga Pilipino, 2 Disyembre 1899.

PATH OF PHILIPPINE NATIONALISM, 1899

Through this community, now divided between Kayan East and Kayan West, Tadian, Mountain Province, Emilio Aguinaldo, president of the first Philippine Republic, and his army passed while defending the freedom and nationalism of the Filipino, 2 December 1899.)

LANDAS NG PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 1899

Sa bayang ito ng Tadian, Mountain Province, dumaan si Emilio Aguinaldo, pangulo ng unang Republika ng Pilipinas, at ang kaniyang hukbo habang ipinagtatanggol ang kalayaan at pagkabansa ng mga Pilipino, 2 Disyembre 1899.

Ang panandang pangkasaysayang ito ay pinasinayaan bilang ambag sa paggunita sa ika-125 anibersaryo ng kalayaan at pagkabansang Pilipino, 12 Hunyo 2023 – 23 Marso 2026.

PATH OF PHILIPPINE NATIONALISM, 1899

Through this town of Tadian, Mountain Province, Emilio Aguinaldo, president of the first Philippine Republic, and his army passed through while defending the freedom and nationalism of the Filipino people, 2 December 1899.

This historical mark is designed as a contribution to the commemoration of the 125th anniversary of Philippine freedom and nationalism, 12 June 2023 – 23 March 2026.)

NHCP Chair Jose will present the historical marker, after which the certificate of transfer will be signed with the local government of Tadian.

This unveiling activity is one of a series of marker unveilings in the province of Mt. Province that NHCP will spearhead in line with the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
