MANILA, Philippines — Marriott International officially opened Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan, marking the brand's debut and first city hotel on the island.

The new 196-room hotel is located in Barangay Ibo's Mahi Center in Mactan Economic Zone 1, an area that blends business opportunities, pristine beaches, and a rich cultural heritage.

It is also just around three minutes away from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and directly connected to the new Mahi Mall, not to mention easily accessible to world-renowned diving sites and cultural landmarks.

The brand's Regional Vice President for Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines Duke Nam described Mactan island as a "perfect balances [of] business dynamism with natural paradise" in a statement.

"This debut reinforces our confidence in Mactan as a key gateway in the Visayas and our commitment to expanding our portfolio in high-demand destinations across the Philippines," Nam added.

Multi-Propert General Manager Dottie Würgler, who also oversees Sheraton Cebu Mactan, mirrored Nam's enthusiasm and praise for the island.

"Mactan is an island that blends business dynamism with natural beauty, and we've created a space that gives guests the room to move at their own pace — whether they're here to work, explore, or simply rest," Würgler said.

The new hotel also introduces the all-day dining restaurant Davos, after the Cebuano word for plentiful or bountiful "dabos," which celebrates the island's rich marine heritage through fresh, locally-sourced seafood and coastal cuisine alongside international favorites.
