MANILA, Philippines — The National Police Commission has relieved a Napolcom employee after he was arrested for allegedly threatening a TNVS driver with a gun following a traffic altercation in Quezon City.
Napolcom Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan said Jaime Hermogenes Flores Jr., who is assigned with the Inspection, Monitoring and Investigation Service, was placed under the administrative holding unit.
According to the Quezon City Police District, the gun-toting incident occurred on June 12 along EDSA after Flores and a TNVS driver figured in a vehicular collision.
Investigators said Flores, who was allegedly intoxicated, drew a firearm, threatened the driver and hurled profanities despite attempts by traffic personnel to settle the dispute.
A complaint for grave threats has been filed against Flores before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
A tearful Flores publicly apologized yesterday to the victim, his family and Napolcom officials.
