In an interview on Sunday, PRO-5 BGen. Andre Dizon said suspect Raymart Martinez, 34, of Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, is reportedly the boyfriend of victim Dr. Rajean Monnette Romualdez.

"The case was submitted to the city prosecutor's office on Friday, Feb. 21, in the afternoon," said Dizon.

"Before filing, officers from the Naga City Police Office assisted witnesses in subscribing their affidavits at the prosecutor's office," added Dizon.

The suspect is in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation while his case undergoes pre-evaluation.

"At this stage, we cannot disclose details regarding the motive as the case is now with the prosecutor," Dizon said.

A special team has been assigned to expedite the investigation into the death of the 36-year-old physician of Bicol Medical Center. She graduated from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Romualdez, who sustained a gunshot wound to the head, was found dead inside her parked car along Princeton Street, near the hospital.
