MANILA, Philippines — The first road safety park in the Philippines has been opened in Muntinlupa.

Spanning 3,140 square meters, the P31-million interactive facility in Barangay Tunasan features simulated road networks and transport facilities, complete with signage and markings that engage children.

Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez affirmed the need to integrate road safety lessons in elementary education.

“There should be a cultural change in people’s behavior about roads. We’re making this interactive since children nowadays are frequently using iPads. So I hope this park will encourage them,” Lopez said.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon said the park would help prevent unruly and undisciplined people on the road.
