“Torete” by Moonstar88 is turning 25!
The OPM band will be celebrating one of OPM's most beloved anthems with an anniversary concert.
Moonstar88 is set to hold the concert "25 Years of Torete" on May 24 at Eton Centris Walk in Quezon City. Admission is free and the event is open to all ages.
Aside from the anniversary, the band will breathe new life into their hit songs together with the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra. The concert will be opened by rising bands Hey June! and Better Days.
“Torete” was first released in 2000 as part of Moonstar88’s debut album, “Popcorn.” It was originally sung by the band’s first vocalist, Acel Bisa, who left the band to take a break and later on get married and have kids.
Moonstar88 is now composed of Maysh Baay on vocals and guitar, Buddy Zabala on bass, Herbert Hernandez on lead guitar, and Bon Sundiang on drums.
More of Moonstar88’s hits include “Migraine,” “Sulat,” and their rendition of Apo Hiking Society’s “Panalangin.” —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
