'THANKS for the piece of advice, but no thanks!' This is likely the reaction of Mommy Min, mother of Kathryn Bernardo, to Xian Gaza's open letter on his Facebook page.

As for the celebrity mom, what gives the self-proclaimed "Pambansang Marites" the right to meddle in their family affairs particularly in the way she's raising her daughter?

Xian's open letter — meant to jolt Mommy Min not to be too hard on Kathryn — must be his counter-reaction to the former's post never to be swayed by fake news all over social media.

Earlier, Xian — for all his sleuth-ish skills — shared the latest scoop he got wind of.

Albeit raised the interrogative way, Xian implied that all's well between erstwhile couple Kathryn and Daniel Padilla.

In fact, in Xian's exact words: "Nag-uusap na sila (They're talking to each other now)!"

In fairness to Xian, he has yet to verify that itsy-bitsy of news himself.

If proven true, that's more than welcome news as far as the still-humongous KathNiel fan base is concerned. Mommy Min, however, doesn't look at it that way.

Apparently in retaliation, Xian ran an open letter to Mrs. Bernardo. He pointed out that already 28 years old, Kathryn can very well tell what's right from wrong. Ergo, the allegedly controlling, if not manipulative, celebrity mom should loosen her grip on her daughter.

Xian then went on to cite possible scenarios should Mommy Min continue with her intrusive ways toward her daughter.

If ever, he won't be surprised if Mommy Min produces a "renegade" in Kathryn — comparing the latter's case to Jake Zyrus (formerly Charice Pempengco).

Xian further wrote: "Jake stood up against his mom who had nothing else in mind but money she could get!"

Xian's basis stemmed from Jake's book "I Am Jake," a tell-all account of her life then as Charice and her familial relationship.

Back to Mommy Min, she has not issued any statement nor made any post on social media to address Xian's open letter.

In the meantime, Xian's "billet-doux" got Kathryn's concerned friends and fans alike thinking.

SENATOR Bong Revilla remains optimistic that the local film industry will one day spring back to its once-frenzied state.

He admits that major industry players particularly the producers have yet to get accustomed to the passage of the somewhat restrictive Eddie Garcia Law.

The actor's valid observation stems from most film producers' reluctance, if disinterest, to engage the services of senior actors.

The same rings true for child actors whose prescribed working hours — four tops — may result in fearsome ramifications.

Bong states: "The imminent danger there is that we may not be able to produce another Niño Muhlach!"

Despite this, Bong is pinning his hopes that the industry will ultimately get adjusted to it.

Cognizant of such birthing pains, Bong is keeping his fingers crossed that better days are up ahead.
