Her advocacy focusing on two critical SDGs — Zero Hunger (Goal 2) and Good Health (Goal 3) — is aimed at making a meaningful impact on the lives of Filipinos.
"My passion for combating malnutrition and hunger began in high school, where I volunteered in my hometown," Maranan said.
As I pursued a food-related course in college, my interest only grew, fueled by my school's emphasis on sustainability and SDGs," Maranan said.

"This exposure ignited a desire in me to achieve Zero Hunger, driving me to address the malnutrition and hunger that affects disadvantaged communities, and I'm committed to making a meaningful impact," she added.
Maranan's advocacy extends to promoting Good Health, a personal cause driven by her mother's battle with chronic kidney disorder, which was partly caused by unhealthy food choices.
"This has made me realize that while others have the privilege of providing food, we still have to consider nutrition as it is beneficial in the long run," Maranan explained.
Maranan's first pageant experience was a citywide competition, where she was persuaded to join as her barangay lacked a representative, and despite initial self-consciousness, she acknowledged it as a valuable learning experience.
Sixty-nine candidates from the Philippines and overseas Filipino communities are vying for the 2025 Miss Universe Philippines title, with the winner to represent the country in the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand. The Philippines has so far won the prestigious crown four times.
